On a flat strip of land on the hills above Ornavasso, stands the Boden Sanctuary, in a dominant position with respect to the town and the Toce plain.
The religious complex recalls a miraculous apparition of the Madonna which occurred in the 16th century to the little shepherdess Maria Della Torre, who was lost at night in the woods: thanks to the intervention of the Virgin and her light which acted as her guide, the little girl she managed to return home safely. To celebrate the event, a sanctuary was built which has undergone subsequent expansions and embellishments over the centuries. Today the church has three naves divided by arches that open onto the presbytery.
Characteristic are also the rooms in which the ex-votos are collected, which constitute a vivid testimony of the fervent religious sentiment that has always linked the population to this place. The sanctuary can be reached both by car and on foot, walking along "the path of faith".
Once you reach the top you can rest in the courtyard in front of the church and quench your thirst at the spring water fountain.
