Casa Museo Andrea Ruffoni
“My house is your museum".
The Andrea Ruffoni House Museum is a fascinating and articulated museum complex on the Isola dei Pescatori.
It is composed of:
1) The house that once belonged to the Sicilian artist Andrea Ruffoni (1925-1990) was furnished by him with works from his last production, in which the use of burnt plastics and metal oxides was used to denounce the environmental degradation that affected the country (Seveso disaster) and the world (Chernobyl disaster) in the 1970s and 1980s;
2) His studio, located in another building, with a workshop above it, where the artist's work can still be seen, with his clothes, tools, and various unfinished works;
3) The so-called 'secret garden,' one of the most evocative places on the island, hidden away from the tourist flow.
A guided tour of the Andrea Ruffoni House Museum provides an insight into the artist's work and the recent history of Isola dei Pescatori.
Open to the public from June to September.
Not accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
Schools: by appointment. Maximum capacity: 8-10 people.
