Centuries of tradition in a mountain valley.
The Ethnographic Museum of Gurro and the Cannobina Valley offers a glimpse of life in the past, housed in an old house with a three-story porch. Here, you will find traditional furnishings, from the kitchen with its sideboard, pantry, and wooden crockery to the wooden carved furniture, beech leaf mattress, hand-woven hemp drapery, and hand-woven hemp linen. A large room is dedicated to crafts, with various tools and utensils used in agriculture and animal husbandry. The giant loom, flanked by spinning tools, is lovely and recalls the traditional processing of hemp and wool. A central showcase displays all the traditional costumes of the valley, which vary from village to village, with skirts, pleated dresses of different colours, shawls, hemp shirts, the characteristic peduli, embroidery, and lace.
