A few steps from the centre of Baveno stands Villa Fedora, immersed in the coolness of the municipal park. A 19th-century residence, it was witness to both happy and sad events: from being the property of the great musician Umberto Giordano to a refuge for a wealthy Jewish family
scarred by a tragic fate, to an institution for mothers in need.
Today it is the property of the Chamber of Commerce, which has its headquarters here and has carried out restoration work. The lush English style park, all around, is populated by oaks, camellias, mimosas and azaleas. It is open to the public all year round and, from spring to autumn, is often the location for festivals and cultural events. Very popular is its beautiful beach, which provides a refuge from the summer heat in the afternoon hours. The beach and the avenues of the park, enriched by the inclusive play area and the new fitness trail, can be used by everyone, without architectural barriers.
