The Vigezzina - Centovalli railway line connects Domodossola (Italy), in the heart of the Alps, to Locarno (Switzerland) on Lake Maggiore, along a 52 km route (32 in Italy and 20 in Switzerland).
This route is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating of the Alpine railways with its scenic wonders to be admired during the journey: forests, green plateaus, wild mountains and glittering glaciers, waterfalls and ancient villages.
The railway route is also a fine example of civil engineering.
