Live Your Lago Maggiore Bleisure Experience!
With this slogan, the SLOW BIZ Fam Trip of the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi took place from Thursday 13th to Monday 17th April, with the aim of promoting Congress Tourism in our destination by looking at the most popular trends in the sector at the moment.
Five days on our Lakes Maggiore and Orta and in the mountains of Ossola with 12 international Tour Operators in the congress sector. Each of them not only visited event locations, including hotels and historic residences, but also tried immersive experiences such as visits to the gardens of feelings, creative workshops, ziplines and adventure parks, photo contests, local craft workshops and themed dinners immersed in the lush spring nature of our lakeside villas, the countryside and the alpine parks. They will thus bring to their markets, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark, memories experienced first-hand that can be proposed to business customers who are increasingly asking for them from the Italian offer, on the basis of slow movement and authentic and sustainable tourism, to transform a business event in the strict sense into a real bleisure experience in the destination.
The tour program included visits to some of the best conference hotels on the middle-lower Lake Maggiore with a stay in Stresa; Villa Anelli in Oggebbio with its camellia park, camellia tea tasting and a session of floral watercolors; the Borromean Islands and their splendid botanical gardens. The next move was to Lake Orta in the name of the outdoors with a test of Lago d'Orta Zipline in Omegna and the Le Pigne Adventure Park in Ameno; a cruise to Orta San Giulio could not be missed, with a tour of the village, and Pettenasco and a visit to some of Cusio's Mice structures. Last but not least, Ossola with the wonderful Veglia Devero Natural Park, where the competition for the most instagrammable shot was also organized, awarded by the ATL with branded gadgets; the typical craft activity at the Erba Bona laboratory, specialized in the processing of alpine herbs, and finally a wellness and gourmet experience at the Hotel Edelweiss & Lare Spa where the group stayed in the mountains of the Antigorio Valley.
This Fam Trip represents the completion of the entire "SLOW BIZ" project in the promotional-commercial field towards foreign tour operators, which also included a series of actions already implemented between February and March by our Local Tourist Agency.
On February 23, the District organized the "SLOW BIZ" Webinar for foreign buyers with the aim of training on our destination from a Mice perspective, including important case histories and insights related to wellness tourism. Subsequently, on March 2 and 3, two days of b2b meetings were held through the Virtual Workshop “SLOW BIZ” during which foreign demand met local Mice supply on the same digital platform. Both online events, consequential and connected to each other, with the addition of the Fam Trip, represent an effective combination aimed at selling abroad - through qualified tourist intermediation - our business + leisure destination, both lake and Alpine.
