Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) - 8 Klavierstücke op. 76
Franz Schubert (1797-1828) - Sonata in la maggiore D.959

It is an honor for Orta Festival to host Filippo Gorini, a young performer, winner at the age of 27 of the “Premio Abbiati”, a prestigious award from Italian critics, as “best soloist” of the year 2022.
Already winner of the “Borletti Buitoni Trust Award” in 2020, in 2023 he was awarded the “Franco Buitoni Award” which will lead him to spend artistic residencies in seven world metropolises.
Among recent engagements, the debut with the Orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, recitals at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, at the Wigmore Hall in London and at the Marlboro Festival in the United States at the invitation of Mitsuko Uchida. Filippo Gorini competes in this concert with a program that includes three authors of the great classical-romantic tradition in their full maturity.
The evening opens with the antepenultimate of the Sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven, the op. 109, a masterpiece of his maturity in which all the research for a new formal order within an absolute freedom of expression is perceived. It will then be time for Johannes Brahms’ op.76, the first important collection of Klavierstücke (4 Caprices and 4 Intermezzi), from his last creative period, characterized by an intimate writing. To complete a very ambitious program, capable of highlighting the maturity of an interpreter, our artist has chosen the Sonata n. 20 D.959, a sort of heartbreaking spiritual testament of the late Schubert.
