The Somma Alpine Refuge is in Alta Val Formazza at an altitude of 2.561 m above sea level, on a balcony overlooking the majestic peaks that frame Lake Sabbioni: the largest artificial water basin in Ossola. From the refuge you can enjoy a unique view of the glaciers and the profiles of Arbola (Ofenhorn 3,235 m), Punta del Sabbione (Hohsandhorn 3,182 m) and the impervious Corno di Ban 3,028 m.
