Hats off!
The museum (Hat Museum) is located on the premises of the former Panizza hat factory, which was founded in 1881 and produced fine felt hats until 1981. The itinerary recounts the history and activity of the hat factory through documents and images of the period.
he first section illustrates the fascinating process of rabbit-hair felting with machines and materials at different stages of production. The second section shows the various stages of shaping, modelling, and finishing the hat. A large central display case shows the history of the hat, from the earliest models of the 17th and 18th centuries to the Panizza production of the 20th century and hats with special functions (military, ecclesiastical, etc.).
Thanks to various donations, the museum has acquired collections of ethnic hats worldwide and a series of women's hats at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
