On Tuesday 1 October, Distretto Turistico dei Laghi participated for the very first time in the 8th edition of Good Italy Workshop in Parma, in the heart of Italy's Food Valley.
The event was created to promote food and wine Italy in the world, favouring B2B meetings between Italian tour operators specialised in taste experiences, production protection and environmental sustainability, and between buyers from all over the world including tour operators, bus operators, tour organisers, b2b tour operators, boutique tour operators, luxury tour operators and mice.
For the occasion, the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi had a full agenda of appointments that involved meeting 13 Buyers from Spain, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, France, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. The objective was to present the Ossola Lakes and Valleys area not only in terms of its beauty and attractions, but also to promote the local food and wine: from Ossola DOC wines, including Prunet, to typical cheeses such as Ossolano DOP and Bettelmatt PAT, to Vigezzo raw ham, brisaula and goat's violin. Typical local products also include lake fish, including perch, trout, bleak, whitefish and whitefish; excellent for a delicious second course or served with risotto as a first course. Finally, the confectionery production is also worthy of note, including the famous Margheritine di Stresa, the fugascina di Mergozzo and the black bread of Coimo with walnuts, figs and sultanas.
For the occasion, the ATL staff distributed multilingual institutional maps of the area and the brochure ‘Food & Wine’ from Novara to VCO, a territory to taste, to buyers. The BtoB event proved to be excellent in terms of buyer interest and propensity to discover the destination.
